Cookbooks OLD AND NEW 02/13/2018 For a while I've been trying to gather "little things that mean a lot" for a cookbook. I began by jotting down at the top of my outline page the purpose of this compilation: favorite family recipes and other little things one may find inspiring. Luscious recipes, primitive colorful artwork, musings from favorite people, and a few photos of family chefs doing their "thing" are to fill a couple dozen pages that hopefully will share "secrets" from my family's kitchen. As I began the task

"Speaking to one another with songs and hymns"...hmmm. 01/23/2018 If only one person read my blog on Tablecloths and didn't hear the real "song" my words tried to sing, the effort I put into that blog has been in vain. (eeeew, vanity!) And, I apologize. This came to me last night. "But be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts". I'm not complaining but it's still January and too soon to disrespect the season of ordinary things...afterall, wasn't it just Christmas a few days ago? Shouldn't there be a little while of bleakness in the house before we begin

THE SOMETHING THAT IS EVERTHING" 01/20/2018 Some days it seems everything connects to the next thing and always leading us to something. The "something" that is everything. Like, yesterday. I watched VICTORIA'S season 2 finale. (NO SPOILER ALERT, except to say I loved this season even more than the first.) The story, the music, the scenery...it was all so beautiful. Bits of dialogue brought me back to the story of OUTLANDER which made me think of the mini series GUNPOWDER which made me think of yesterday's MARCH FOR LIFE taking
