Confessions from two afternoon porch ladies 10/24/2016 Frances and I were blest this October with incredibly beautiful weather. Sunny skies, gentle breezes, sparrows flocking to the bird feeder which hung next to the porch was our setting every afternoon for almost three weeks. We'd have lunch then go outside for some "sunshine and fresh air". It became the best place to say our daily rosary and savor our "after Rosary" afternoon treat. More often than not, Fran and I would doze off a bit between Hail Marys. ( I blame this on the Rosary app I

September 09/10/2016 Geesze...September morning... September 10... Saturday...my brother Robert's 65th. birthday...the sky is full of gray clouds...the wind is definitely the "wind of change"...Neil Diamond's SEPTEMBER MORN comes to mind...one of Robert's favorite songs... Last night It drizzled. The breeze was vocal and its message through the giant oaks and their weathered summer leaves was telling me that Autumn is on its way. This morning, this September morn, the hanging petunia planter on my front porch

In only a moment... 08/26/2016 "In only a moment we both will be old...we won't even notice the world turning cold...somehow I'll whisper what I'm thinking of, 'my cup runneth over with love.' " These lyrics from an old love song pop into my head quite frequently. This tune was popular when I was young. Ed Ames sang it beautifully, too. The first verse: SOMETIMES IN THE MORNING WHEN SHADOWS ARE DEEP I LIE HERE BESIDE YOU JUST WATCHING YOU SLEEP. AND SOMETIMES I WHISPER WHAT I'M THINKING OF, MY CUP RUNNETH OVER WITH LOVE.
